People often look to spring and summer as prime real estate seasons, with home buyers rushing to move while school is out and the weather is nice.  Selling your California home in winter, however, has some surprising benefits. Especially in places with mild winters, like much of California.

Lower Inventory – With less inventory on the market during winter months, you’ve got less competition.  Combine that with more motivated buyers, and you’re set for success!

Serious Buyers – While the summer months tend to see an increase in open houses and people browsing, winter tends to be the opposite. People looking for homes in winter months are often ready to move and they want to get it done quickly and efficiently, which is great for serious sellers!

Corporate Relocation – Traditionally, the busiest months for corporate relocation are January and February.  Often, these buyers are on a deadline and want to move quickly. Often, they know their budget and where they want to live, and are eager to get in and get settled.  These are often great buyers to work with.

Buyers Have Cash – For people in executive and sales roles, they often get their biggest bonuses at the end of the year.  Having a large sum of cash makes it easier to come up with a down payment, and that makes things easier on everyone.

New Parents Need Space – According to data from the Social Security Administration, there are more birthdays in the month of September than any other time of the year.  After the rush of September babies, families are adjusting to life with baby and realizing that they need more room.  These people are often selling their homes as well, so it’s a double win!

I am passionate about solving problems and creating solutions for homeowners needing to sell and improving our community in the Central Valley. Fun fact I played football at Redwood High School in Visalia and went on to play in the NFL for the San Diego Chargers and seemed to have a long career ahead of me but was starting to feel the effects of concussions so had to hang up the cleats. Now I love to play basketball and stay fit working out, go to the beach, and chase the kids together with my wife with our growing family.
